Ed Flanagan is a member of the firm's Real Estate section, handling an array of commercial real estate matters including the purchase and sale of developed and undeveloped real estate, the negotiation of related real estate financings, commercial leasing projects and development related work. Additionally, Ed has significant experience in high technology personal property leasing and financing, two areas in which he is able to assist our Business section.
Prior to joining Hirschler Fleischer, Ed held various positions in both the regulated and non-regulated arms of the Bell Atlantic Corporation. This extended association has provided Ed with access to a national clientele and given him a keen understanding of the corporate client's specific legal and business perspectives, knowledge that he uses to the client's best interests in all negotiations and deal structuring.
Relevant Experience:
- Servicing nationwide commercial real estate clientele with a particular past emphasis on west coast transactions.
- Shopping center financing and development work, both locally and outside the Virginia market.
- Negotiation and closing of the transfer of various income producing investment properties, including several office building facilities.
- Extensive representation of tenants and landlords regarding commercial real property leases, as well as related ground lease transactions.
- Representation of a newly formed REIT in the acquisition of multiple projects in conjunction with its establishment and public offering.
- Negotiation and closing of an aircraft simulator transaction with a national air carrier and the consummation of the related financing.
- Extensive negotiations regarding asset based financing and related high technology operating leases with Fortune 500 lessees.
- Related syndication and transfer of various lease and equipment portfolios.
