Community Association Formation & Representation

We frequently assist clients in the formation and management of condominium associations and owners’ associations for residential condominiums, single family residential developments, office park condominiums, and mixed-use developments.  We can assist such associations in confirming their compliance with the Virginia Property Owners’ Association Act, the Virginia Condominium Act and the Virginia Common Interest Community Board regulations, and advise on operational matters, including requirements for filing and enforcing liens for assessments.  We advise both developers and condominium and owners’ associations in connection with the transition of control of the association from the developer to the property owners.  In addition, our litigation attorneys successfully defend legal challenges to owners’ association regulations and decisions made by owners’ association boards.
