Chuck Rothenberg is a real estate attorney with experience representing commercial lenders, developers, builders, and
commercial landlords and tenants. In addition, he represents property owners and developers in land use matters in Henrico,
Chesterfield, Hanover, Ashland and New Kent.
The following represent Chuck's practice areas:
- Negotiates and closes real estate sales and acquisitions for commercial, office, residential and mixed-use projects.
Assists purchasers in all phases of feasibility studies for acquisitions.
- Represents owners and purchasers on zoning and other matters before planning commissions, boards of supervisors and
boards of zoning appeals.
- Negotiates, documents, and closes commercial loans, loan modifications, and loan workouts.
- Prepares integrated project documents for planned unit developments, including declarations of covenants, marketing
agreements and form contracts for the sale of lots to builders and consumers.
- Represents developers in documenting, registering and updating condominium projects with the Virginia Real Estate Board.
Chuck graduated from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta with a B.A. in political science and a minor in
business/economics. He graduated from the University of Richmond Law School. Chuck co-edited the 1999 supplement to the
1994 edition of Landlord - Tenant Law and Practice in Virginia published by Virginia CLE. He authored the "Annual Survey
of Virginia Law: Property," for the University of Richmond Law Review in 1992 and co-authored the same article in 1990,
1991 and 1994. He is a member of the Virginia and American Bar Associations and a member of the Real Estate Section
Council of the Virginia Bar Association.
Chuck was named to Virginia Business Magazine's 2007 List
of "Legal Elite."
