Courtney Moates Paulk is an associate with the
Richmond, Virginia law firm of Hirschler Fleischer.
Ms. Paulk’s primary area of practice is construction
law, representing public and private owners,
contractors, subcontractors and design professionals
in construction and real estate transactions, contracts,
claims and disputes. Additionally, Ms. Paulk handles
a diverse array of civil and commercial disputes
relating to employment and general business liability
issues. Ms. Paulk regularly appears before trial
courts, arbitrators and administrative agencies.
Before joining Hirschler Fleischer, Ms. Paulk served as
a judicial law clerk for the Alexandria Circuit Court.
Ms. Paulk was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2000.
She received her Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from
Mary Washington College in 1992 and her Juris
Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of
Richmond School of Law in 2000. While in law
school, Ms. Paulk served as President of the Trial
Advocacy Board, research assistant to Professor
Mary Heen, Vice-Chancellor and member of the
McNeill Law Society (an honorary academic society
reserved for law students who have achieved a
ranking in the top ten percent of their law school
class), and Vice-President of the Law Student
Chapter of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
Ms. Paulk also represented the law school in local,
state, and national trial competitions. At graduation,
Ms. Paulk received the Virginia Trial Lawyers
Association Student Advocate Award for excellence
in trial advocacy.
Ms. Paulk is currently serves on the Board of
Directors for the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society
and frequently handles matters on a pro-bono basis.
Ms. Paulk was named to Virginia Business Magazine's 2007 List
of "Legal Elite."
